MedStudent OS — Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy

Effective Date: 1 September 2026 • Last Updated: 6 September 2026

This policy explains what you pay, when you pay, how you cancel, what happens afterwards, and how MedStudent OS handles refunds.

1. Who We Are

MedStudent OS is operated by Ryan Chan trading as MedStudent OS, Sole Trader, England, United Kingdom. Business Address: [ADDRESS]. Contact Email: Ryan.medstudentos@gmail.com. This policy explains how the MedStudent OS free trial, recurring subscription, cancellation process and refunds work. Nothing in this policy removes or limits any statutory consumer rights you may have.

2. The MedStudent OS Subscription

MedStudent OS currently offers a 3-Day Free Trial followed by £4 per month on a recurring monthly subscription. A valid payment method is required to begin the free trial. Payment and subscription management are handled through Stripe. There is no upfront charge during the 3-day free trial, no minimum paid subscription period, no annual commitment, and no cancellation fee. You can cancel at any time.

3. What Happens When You Start the Free Trial

Your 3-day free trial begins immediately. Stripe securely saves your payment method, shows when your trial ends and when the first £4 payment is due. You receive MedStudent OS access subject to successful AuthFlow verification. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to £4/month. The trial lasts approximately 72 hours from activation.

4. Trial Reminder Emails

Stripe may send transactional subscription emails, including your trial end date and time, upcoming £4 payment, payment method and a link to manage your subscription. These are service and billing communications, not marketing emails. Please monitor the email address used to start your trial.

5. Cancelling During Your 3-Day Free Trial

You may cancel at any time during your free trial. If you cancel before the first £4 payment is due, you will not be charged. Cancellation during the trial does not immediately remove the remaining valid trial entitlement; you may continue using it until the trial-end date and time shown by Stripe.

6. What Happens If You Do Not Cancel the Trial

If you do not cancel before the free trial ends, Stripe automatically charges £4. Your MedStudent OS subscription then becomes a recurring monthly paid subscription and continues renewing monthly until you cancel. The upcoming payment date is shown through Stripe.

7. Managing Your Subscription

MedStudent OS uses the Stripe Customer Portal. Open the Manage your subscriptions option in your MedStudent OS or Stripe billing email, enter the email address used to subscribe, then open Stripe’s secure login link. You can view and manage your subscription there. If you cannot access the portal, email Ryan.medstudentos@gmail.com for help.

8. Cancelling a Paid Subscription

You can cancel a paid subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal. There is no cancellation fee. Future automatic renewal stops, no further monthly payment should be taken after the current paid period, and you retain your paid entitlement until that billing period ends.

9. Access After Cancellation

Your ChatGPT conversation and your MedStudent OS subscription entitlement are different. Cancelling does not necessarily delete an existing ChatGPT conversation. Once a trial or paid entitlement expires, you no longer have a contractual entitlement to continued paid MedStudent OS access. AuthFlow may restrict technical access where entitlement cannot be verified.

10. Renewing After Cancellation

If you cancel and later want to subscribe again, you may start a new eligible subscription through the current purchase flow. Eligibility for another free trial is not guaranteed. Available pricing and trial terms will be shown before purchase.

11. Failed Payments

If a recurring £4 payment fails, Stripe may attempt to collect it again. Your access may be affected if your subscription is no longer considered active. If you believe a payment has failed incorrectly, check the Stripe Customer Portal or contact Ryan.medstudentos@gmail.com.

12. Refunds

MedStudent OS takes a generous, human approach to genuine billing problems. If you forgot to cancel, were charged unexpectedly, experienced a significant technical problem, were unable to access the product, or believe a refund would be fair, email Ryan.medstudentos@gmail.com with the email address associated with your subscription.

13. Our Goodwill Refund Approach

MedStudent OS operates an unlimited discretionary goodwill approach: genuine requests are considered individually, fairly, quickly and generously. A goodwill refund is not automatically guaranteed, may be refused for fraud, abuse or repeated deliberate misuse, and does not limit any legal refund or remedy you are entitled to receive.

14. How Refunds Are Processed

Where a refund is agreed, it will normally be processed through Stripe to the original payment method. The time it takes to appear may depend on Stripe, your bank and your payment method. MedStudent OS cannot control bank or card-issuer processing times.

15. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you believe there is a genuine billing problem, please contact Ryan first at Ryan.medstudentos@gmail.com so we can investigate and resolve it directly. This does not remove your legal right to raise a legitimate payment dispute with your card provider. False or fraudulent chargebacks may result in suspension or termination of access.

16. Your ChatGPT Subscription Is Separate

Your £4/month MedStudent OS subscription pays for access to MedStudent OS only. It does not include ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Pro, ChatGPT Go or another paid OpenAI plan. You need your own eligible ChatGPT account. Free ChatGPT users may access MedStudent OS subject to OpenAI’s usage limits and availability.

17. Third-Party Availability

MedStudent OS relies on external services including ChatGPT/OpenAI, Stripe and AuthFlow. Occasional technical problems may affect billing or access. If a significant problem prevents you receiving the access you reasonably expected, please contact Ryan; the goodwill refund approach is intended to handle these situations fairly.

18. Cooling-Off and Statutory Consumer Rights

This policy is a contractual MedStudent OS policy and does not replace or reduce statutory rights under UK consumer law or other applicable law. Depending on the contract and circumstances, statutory cancellation or cooling-off rights may apply. To exercise a statutory right, contact Ryan.medstudentos@gmail.com. Nothing here requires you to accept a less favourable remedy than the law provides.

19. Cancellation Without the Stripe Customer Portal

The Stripe Customer Portal is normally the quickest way to stop future renewals. If you cannot use it, contact MedStudent OS directly at Ryan.medstudentos@gmail.com. Please state that you wish to cancel, and include your name, subscription email and date. We may need enough information to identify the correct Stripe subscription. You do not need to give a reason.

20. If MedStudent OS Changes Price

The current subscription price is £4/month after the 3-day free trial. If prices change for new users, the price shown before purchase applies. Any proposed recurring-price change for existing subscribers will receive appropriate advance notice and follow applicable consumer-law and Stripe requirements. Existing prices will not be silently increased.

21. If MedStudent OS Is Discontinued

If MedStudent OS is permanently discontinued, new subscriptions and future recurring payments will be stopped, existing subscribers will be informed where reasonably possible, and any paid period that cannot reasonably be provided will be handled fairly, including refunds where appropriate.
